What it is
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It is FDA-approved for the reduction of visceral adiposity — the dangerous fat stored around internal organs — in specific clinical populations.
How it works
Tesamorelin stimulates the pituitary gland to release the body's own growth hormone, rather than introducing exogenous growth hormone. This preserves the natural pulsatile release pattern and avoids many of the risks associated with direct GH therapy. The result is improved body composition, particularly a reduction in visceral fat.
